Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of a given stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components

Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. Reroll tokens

Leveling
