Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in linearity of a given stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished by a number of means such as using upgrade components as well as increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to boost their value.
Upgradeable items are available in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The most common method of upgrading equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools, and provide a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing extra crafting materials.

To upgrade item upgrading , select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of or.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced through a variety of methods, such as buying upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.
Almost all weapons can be upgraded using the use of a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded with suffix upgrades. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewers and trigger interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also improve the retention of a message by evoking a familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by certain amount. This is displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This isn't the actual amount by which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are admiring.
Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.
When you remove an item after adding a glyph the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also apply a glyph on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for those who take lots of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes of weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the rerolled items. This will change the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be selected for recycling. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.
In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolls are a great option to upgrade an item, but players must be aware that it will lower the overall ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls required in order to increase it to its final ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective for Diadems and rings, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items which will allow them to make changes to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to offer paid rerolls in this point in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade for an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading, which increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will maintain its iLevel however it will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
When you upgrade items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a higher roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll may occur. Additionally the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type which means that when you upgrade a rare or unique item to an exceptional item type you has a chance to achieve an increased iLevel.
The cost of upgrading items can be expensive especially if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost will depend on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it has. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the highest level on its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level, though. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
The iLevel also changes in accordance with the item's upgrade path and its base level. For instance the weapon that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary item will have a chance to get the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
